Our thoughts can reflect the stuff our parents used to say--"Don't do this, you are so lazy, you'll never make friends that way, you'll never succeed" --things like that. At one time they may have served some purpose, but not any more (if ever). Repeating such negativity brings negative results.
INSTEAD: Say, "CANCEL THAT THOUGHT" whenever you catch yourself thinking something negative. It turns the negative energy into neutral. It's like puncturing a soap bubble--just gone. You may not be able to find that negative thought afterward. Then you can substitute a positive thought, maybe just "yes, I can."
If saying it once doesn't neutralize it, say it again. And again. Just keep at it, one thought at a time. You'll change your future.
